Job summary

Lincoln Financial Group is seeking a Financial Planning & Analysis Specialist for the Radnor, PA area. The role is a hybrid position with three days in the office and supports budgeting, forecasting and strategic financial guidance.

You will build models, analyze trends, and present insights to leadership. The ideal candidate has FP&A experience, strong Excel skills and demonstrated ability to communicate with business partners.

Qualifications

  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years in lieu of Bachelor's).
  • 1+ years experience in financial planning & analysis.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency with Excel and financial modeling techniques.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with AI tools to support analysis and decision making.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, analyze, and report financial results and key metrics for assigned LFD areas.
  • Support annual budget, forecast, and long-range planning processes.
  • Perform variance analysis and communicate findings to leadership.
  • Partner with leaders to provide financial guidance for operations and investments.
  • Develop models and analyses to evaluate opportunities and workforce scenarios.
  • Collect and evaluate financial information for standard and ad hoc analyses.
  • Assist in forecasts, management reporting, and executive presentations.
  • Support monthly/quarterly close activities and reconciliations.
  • Share insights and recommendations with management for action.
  • Collaborate with teams to improve financial processes and tools.

The Role at a Glance
What you'll be doing
  • Prepare, analyze, and report on financial results and key business metrics for assigned LFD business areas.
  • Support the annual budget, forecast, and long-range planning processes, including expense, revenue, and headcount planning.
  • Perform budget-to-actual, forecast-to-actual, and variance analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities and communicate findings to leadership.
  • Partner with business leaders to provide financial guidance and decision support related to operational initiatives, strategic investments, and resource planning.
  • Develop financial models and analyses to evaluate business opportunities, including new products, pricing strategies, sales growth initiatives, and workforce planning scenarios.
  • Collect, compile, and evaluate financial information to develop and deliver both standard and ad hoc financial analyses.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial forecasts, management reporting, and executive presentations.
  • Support monthly and quarterly close activities, including reconciliations and financial performance reviews.
  • Communicate financial insights, trends, and emerging issues to management and recommend actions where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with team members and cross-functional partners to improve financial processes, reporting capabilities, and decision-making tools.
What we’re looking for

Must-Haves

  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) (Minimum Required)
  • 1+ Years experience in financial planning & analysis
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret financial data and communicate insights effectively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial modeling techniques.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with business leaders and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, Claude, or similar platforms) to support data analysis, process efficiency, financial insights, and business decision-making.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint with experience developing clear and concise presentations that communicate financial results, forecasts, strategic recommendations, and key business insights to stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with financial planning and reporting tools such as SmartView, Hyperion, Essbase, and/or Anaplan.
  • Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, headcount planning, and ad hoc business analysis.
  • Experience presenting financial results and recommendations to business partners and leadership.

The pay range for this position is$66,750 - $106,800with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
