Job summary

A leading healthcare company in Plano is seeking an experienced accounting professional to oversee accounting operations and ensure accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate should have 4-6 years of experience in accounting, strong analytical skills, and bilingual proficiency in English and Japanese. Job description

Leads or supports accounting operations, ensures accurate financial reporting, and supports compliance and strategic planning. Manages or supports budgeting processes, analyzes resource allocation, and supports financial planning and reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for all aspects of the month-end close, including balancing general ledger accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Review and analyze financial reports for accuracy.
  • Assist and/or prepare monthly management report and accompanying schedules, worksheets, and narratives, including “budget vs actual” variance reports. Assist and/or provide follow-up and documentation of significant variances.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate filing of sales and use tax returns.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by completing requested materials. Handle parts of the audit as requested.
  • Coordinate and provide consultation on the budget management structure and assist in the development and management of the budget in accordance with the company budget policy; recommend and implement ongoing improvements.
  • Assist in the tracking and managing of ongoing monthly expenses and capital projects.
  • Protects the organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
  • Provide insights to senior management around financial modeling, forecasts, and profitability, as well as other business and financial analysis as assigned.

Qualifications
Knowledge and Skills
  • 4-year accounting degree preferred, or equivalent education and experience.
  • 2 years of experience with Medical Billing preferred.
  • 4 to 6 years of experience in accounting/finance required.
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and knowledge of Statutory accounting principles.
  • Strong analytical and accounting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and to take on tasks with high levels of difficulty.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact successfully with all levels of employees in the organization.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills with QuickBooks, MS Word, Excel (including Pivot tables and XLookups), MS Access, Vena, Qlik, PowerBI, and RPA, with the ability to utilize them for meaningful insights to business performance.
  • High-level bilingual skills in English and Japanese are required for budget-related duties and responsibilities.

This role will work closely with our Japan leadership. Therefore, applicants that are bi-lingual in Japanese and English are preferred.
