Job summary

The role supports the annual endowment draw calculation, maintains financial dashboards, and trains users on budgeting tools while monitoring financial results throughout the year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• Demonstrated experience in financial support (Accounting, budgeting or financial analysis).
• Experience with data visualization and financial management tools.
• Ability to lift 30 pounds and sit/stand for extended periods.
• Understanding and appreciation of Samford University's Christ-centered mission.
• Master's degree and data analytics skills are a plus.
• Experience with Power BI is preferred.

Responsibilities

The FP&A Analyst supports university-wide planning by transforming financial data into actionable insights that guide budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making. The role partners with campus stakeholders to create budgets and forecasts, analyze variances, and prepare clear management reporting that informs resource allocation.

• Provide support to management and stakeholders throughout the Budget development process.


• Support the Tuition and Fees planning cycle/process and maintain the tuition and fees master schedule.


• Maintain financial management reporting/dashboards.


• Work with budget managers to monitor financial results throughout the year.


• Respond to the various budget and financial inquiries from across campus.


• Train users on the various financial and budgeting tools.


• Complete necessary accounting and budgeting entries throughout year.


• Complete the annual Endowment draw calculation and serve as the main contact for endowed fund fiscal management.


• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.


• Demonstrated experience working in a financial support capacity (Accounting, budget and/or financial analysis).


• Experience working with Data Visualization and financial management tools.


• Ability to lift 30 pounds.


• Ability to sit or remain stationary for extended periods of time.

• Masters degree.
