Michigan Medicine seeks a Financial Analyst to work closely with the Internal Medicine Department. The team supports 13 divisions and handles financial reporting and forecasting for roughly 900 faculty, providing decision support across departments.

Ideal candidates are adaptable and able to take on a broad range of tasks to improve operational efficiency, prepare internal presentations, and deliver projects with independence and timeliness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5-8 years of financial experience for Senior level; 2-5 years for Intermediate.
• Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite applications.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and writing skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
• Strong ability to balance multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Responsabilités

• Financial lead for four divisions, providing budgeting and forecasting support.
• Assist in the calculation of the annual budget and mid-year forecasts.
• Audit yearly Internal Controls processes/procedures.
• Monthly financial variance reporting.
• Prepare ROI’s and post journal entries for awards and transfers.
• Enter Capital Equipment into Procurement website.
• Aid/provide guidance for ad-hoc questions.
• Prepare Monthly Hospital Financials, RVU, PASS, and Chair Flash Reports.
• Process Moving Expense Reimbursements.
• Participate in special projects to improve reporting and processes.

Job Summary

The Financial Analyst will work closely with all areas of the Internal Medicine Department. Our team supports 13 divisions as well as the Chief Administrative Officer and Department Chair. We handle the financial reporting and forecasting for a department of approximately 900 faculty that significantly contribute to the tripartite mission. We work closely with Departmental and Michigan Medicine financial teams to provide decision support, forecasting, and various analysis throughout the year. Ideal candidates are adaptable and willing to take on a broad variety of additional tasks to improve operational efficiency, make or prepare presentations to internal groups, and other duties as assigned, functioning with a high degree of independence to deliver projects in a timely and effective manner.

Responsibilities

• Financial lead for four divisions, providing the following services:
• Assist in the calculation of the annual budget and mid-year forecasts.
• Audit yearly Internal Controls processes/procedures.
• Monthly financial variance reporting.
• Prepare ROI’s.

• Participating in special projects to improve reporting, analysis, and internal processes.

Required Qualifications

Senior Level

• Bachelors degree with a focus in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum 5-8 years of financial experience.
• Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite applications.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and writing skills.
• Ability to work as a member of a team as well as independently.
• Strong ability to balance multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Intermediate Level

• Bachelors degree with a focus in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum 2-5 years of financial experience.

Desired Qualifications

• Knowledge of University of Michigan systems and processes.
• Financial experience in a healthcare setting.

Modes of Work

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.

Work Schedule

The work schedule will be primarily remote but will have times when on-site work and meetings will be required. Candidates must reside in the state of Michigan for on-site availability.

Background Screening
