As the Finance Operations Associate, you will assist in managing financial and administrative functions.You will be expected to have a sharp business mind and proven ability to strategize and implement high-level program initiatives.You should have a strong talent for project coordination and be motivated by a desire to optimize productivity and nurture program success from inception to completion. You will help identify areas for streamlining processes and achieving greater efficiencies while assisting in the smooth daily operations of our team. This is a hybrid position. Candidates must live within a commutable distance to our Nashville office.
Objectives of the Role
- Integrate project management, organizational change, and business analysis functions in support of overall company goals.
- Be an instrumental part of strategizing, implementing, and maintaining company grant initiatives that adhere to AgriCapture’s overall objectives.
- Organize and present financial data for structured reporting and decision-making; and execute financial processes for senior management.
- Collaborate with senior management on organizing data, completing financial reports, performing financial analysis and projections, reconciling variances, and identifying and resolving any issues.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage federal funding budgets for grant projects and be accountable for delivering against established business goals and objectives.
- Prepare financial reports for grant programs including the USDA Advancing Markets for Producers initiative
- Assist with the preparation of operating budgets, financial statements, manage accounting records, issuing invoices, and handling payments.
- Prepare invoices and process all payments related to the business, including intaking farm-related data from 3rd party organizations to prepare and issue invoices for customers and issue payments to farmers.
- Process all other payments including vendor invoices, individual reimbursements, and other accounts payable and receivable, and research discrepancies as required.
- Manage AgriCapture’s accounting record keeping systems, and procedures for tracking and reporting, including recommending remedial measures.
- Prepare complex and varied financial reports that require selection, preparation, and interpretation of data.
- Establish and maintain administrative procedures and processes and advise senior management on requirements. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local rules, regulations, and other funding source requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration.
- 2-4 years of professional experience with a Finance & Accounting background.
- Experience in developing and managing organizational and grant budgets, Grant administration experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of financial data analysis as well as detailed knowledge of and experience working with QuickBooks accounting software.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication with demonstrated ability to communicate clearly across all levels of an organization.
- Working knowledge of national and local tax regulations and compliance reporting.
