Job summary

Northwestern University’s Querrey Simpson Institute for Regenerative Engineering (RENU) invites applications for a Financial Assistant. The role supports financial transactions, budgeting, reporting, and compliance within the department.

You will work with faculty and staff to ensure accurate records and efficient operations. Key duties include tracking budgets, preparing reports, reconciling accounts, and assisting with purchasing, travel, and reimbursements.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in accounting/finance or related field preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with financial reporting required.

Responsibilities

• Provides day-to-day financial & accounting support using advanced knowledge and judgment.
• Monitors budgets and prepares financial reports.
• Reconciles accounts and maintains records; assists with purchasing, travel, and reimbursements.
• Supports grant financial administration and post-award accounting where applicable.
• Provides administrative support and ensures compliance with policies.
