Job summary

Cambridge Investment Research, Inc. is offering a Financial Operations Analyst Intern role in Fairfield, IA. You will support the Service Experience team through data analysis and process reviews to identify opportunities that improve financial professional and client service experiences.

You will gain exposure to multiple teams, learn how a broker-dealer operates, and contribute practical recommendations to streamline workflows and data use during the 11-week paid summer program.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Finance, Business, or Data Analytics.
• Experience with data analysis and process mapping.
• Ability to translate findings into practical solutions.
• Strong problem-solving, organization, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Comfort with Excel; eager to learn business analytics tools.
• Financial services knowledge not required.

Responsibilities

• Complete data analysis projects focused on pain points in financial professional and client service experiences.
• Review and map current process flows to identify inefficiencies, service gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
• Propose and implement solutions that streamline processes and improve the team’s use of data.
• Work within a collaborative project structure, taking ownership of assigned analysis while partnering with colleagues across teams.
• Use data from NetX, Wealthscape, Compass, TalkDesk, SharePoint, Excel, and Microsoft Copilot to review processes and develop insights.
• Use Power BI or other data analytics tools as needed to analyze and process relevant data sets.

Each intern is partnered with a professional mentor and participates in our professional development program, which includes industry education, career workshops, leadership panels, and networking events. Nearly 30% of interns return to Cambridge as full-time associates.**Location:** All internships are on-site, operating out of our Phoenix, AZ or Fairfield, IA offices. Apartment-style housing is available for Fairfield candidates, and some positions may be eligible to work out of our West Des Moines satellite office.**Work Authorization:** Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States. We are unable to accommodate temporary student work authorizations, including initial Curricular Practical Training (CPT) and Optional Practical Training (OPT).**Posting Window:** Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis beginning in November.
