Civil Service Rule 905. Extra Help Appointment.
This position is Extra Help and at-will and is governed by Civil Service Rule 905. An Extra Help appointment is defined as an appointment made to a non-regular, non-permanent position established on a temporary basis to meet peak loads, unusual work situations, seasonal and recurrent work, intermittent assignments, or emergencies. Such appointment, except emergency appointment, shall not exceed one thousand forty hours in the twelve-month period immediately following the first day of the first appointment of the incumbent, unless extended by prior approval of the Civil Service Commission.
The County of Santa Barbara's Information Technology Department (ITD) is seeking a Financial Office Professional II to support the fiscal operations behind the County's technology services. This position handles the day-to-day financial record keeping that keeps ITD's budget and procurement work on track. The incumbent works in the County's financial systems, including Workday ERP, uses intermediate-level Excel to organize and verify data, and applies established regulations and procedures while exercising judgment to resolve routine issues. The ideal candidate brings accuracy and thoroughness, clear and courteous communication and a customer-focused approach to keeping ITD's finances moving. This position works under general supervision and is well suited to someone who enjoys detailed fiscal work in a fast-moving technology environment.
This position is onsite with the potential to transition to a hybrid onsite/remote schedule, requiring weekly onsite work. It is approximately 20 hours per week, with a flexible schedule available during standard office hours, 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday.
