Air Mobility Command seeks an Associate Director, Financial Management and Comptroller at a MAJCOM/COCOM. This senior civilian role formulates program goals, plans, and policies and serves as the primary advisor on all financial issues to the MAJCOM/COCOM Commander.
The incumbent will supervise a team, ensure budgeting and audit readiness, and translate complex policies into actionable guidance to align resources with strategic objectives.
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Associate Director, Financial Management and Comptroller at a MAJCOM/COCOM, responsible for formulating program goals, plans, and polices for the directorate's mission. Serves as the primary civilian advisor to the MAJCOM/COCOM Commander on all financial issues.
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-14, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of accounting theories, practices, methods and techniques; knowledge of budgetary policies, precedents, goals, objectives, regulations and guidelines; and the ability to interpret new policies and directives as they apply to financial management to meet long and short-range goals.
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-14 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-15 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
