Job summary

Air Force Services Agency seeks an accounting professional to perform the full range of accrual accounting duties, reconcile ledgers, and post to the general ledger. The role requires analytical thinking, attention to detail, and adherence to GAAP in a government environment.

You will provide guidance on document processing, review financial data for accuracy, and support multiple financial and payroll modules while maintaining independence and teamwork to ensure reliable, timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Must be thoroughly versed in NAF accounting procedures.
• Must possess extensive accounting and financial analysis experience.
• Must have experience with standard business software systems such as Microsoft Excel, Access, Power Point, and Word.
• Must have experience using application software and utility programs to develop efficient database update and retrieval procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs the full range of accounting duties using double-entry accrual accounting methods in reconciling subsidiary ledgers and posting to general ledger accounts.
• Performs a monthly reconciliation and recapitulation of applicable general ledger accounts and their subsidiary ledgers to assure that the basic accounting data in the computerized and manual reports are in balance.
• Provides procedural guidance to Agency functional program managers and other staff members on document preparation and processing in various electronic applications given a wide array of complexities.
• Diligently pursue account discrepancies and out-of-balance conditions and review accounting documentation for accuracy, legibility, and timeliness.
