Job description

Financial / M&A Analyst
Position Overview

The Financial / M&A Analyst will play a key role in supporting Bravere's financial performance and growth across the dental industry. This is a hybrid role that will focus on financial analysis, forecasting, reporting, and practice-level performance, and M&A activities

The Analyst will work closely with their direct supervisor to analyze the financial performance of existing dental practices and evaluate potential acquisition opportunities. The role provides exposure to both the financial operations of the business and the M&A lifecycle, from initial analysis and underwriting through acquisition and post-close performance.

At Bravere, financial performance and mission go hand in hand. The Analyst will be expected to approach their work with strong financial discipline while understanding the broader purpose behind the numbers: building sustainable dental practices, supporting our provider partners and their teams, and strengthening access to high-quality dental care in the communities we serve. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing environment. They should be able to work with large amounts of financial and operational data, possess strong Excel and financial modeling skills, and bring both analytical rigor and thoughtful judgement to their work.

Key Responsibilities
Bravere Mission, Values & Culture
  • Demonstrate Bravere’s values in how financial analysis, recommendations, and business decisions are approached, balancing strong financial stewardship with the long‑term success of our practices, providers, teams, and communities.
  • Understand and support Bravere’s mission and vision, recognizing that sustainable financial performance enables the organization to expand access to high‑quality dental care and strengthen the practices with which we partner.
  • Approach financial and acquisition analysis with integrity, curiosity, and sound judgment, looking beyond the numbers to understand the operational and human factors influencing performance.
  • Collaborate across functions and contribute to a culture of accountability, transparency, continuous improvement, and shared ownership of Bravere’s success.
Financial Analysis & Business Performance
  • Analyze financial performance across individual dental practices and the broader organization.
  • Prepare and maintain monthly and quarterly financial reporting.
  • Analyze revenue, production, collections, expenses, EBITDA, cash flow, and operating margins.
  • Perform variance analysis against budget, forecast, prior periods, and acquisition underwriting.
  • Identify trends and financial opportunities or risks within individual practices.
  • Analyze key operational metrics and their impact on financial performance.
  • Assist leadership in understanding the financial drivers of practice performance.
  • Partner with operations and other cross‑functional teams to evaluate the financial impact of staffing, provider compensation, production, collections, and other operational initiatives.

Develop and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and other reporting tools that provide visibility into key financial and operational areas.

Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Develop and maintain financial forecasts for individual practices and the organization.
  • Update forecasts based on actual performance and changes in operating assumptions.
  • Assist with long‑term financial planning and strategic modeling.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial performance and profitability.
  • Perform scenario and sensitivity analyses to evaluate the financial impact of changes in key business and operating assumptions.
M&A / Acquisition Analysis
  • Support the evaluation of prospective dental practice acquisitions from initial screening through closing.
  • Review financial statements, P&Ls, production reports, collections, accounts receivable, and other practice‑level information.
  • Build acquisition models to evaluate revenue, EBITDA, cash flow, valuation, and purchase price.
  • Normalize historical financial results and identify non‑recurring, owner‑specific, or unusual expenses.
  • Analyze practice performance and identify key financial risks and opportunities.
  • Assist with transaction pipeline management and reporting.
  • Track post‑close performance against original acquisition underwriting assumptions.
  • Assist in preparing financial analyses and materials used by senior leadership and the Board to evaluate potential transactions and past M&A activity.
Data & Reporting Infrastructure
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of financial models, reporting tools, dashboards, and analytical processes as Bravere continues to scale.
  • Help establish consistent financial definitions, reporting methodologies, and performance metrics across practices.
  • Maintain a high standard of data integrity and investigate discrepancies across financial and operational reporting.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, investment banking, transaction advisory, corporate development, healthcare finance, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements and financial performance metrics.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to analyze large amounts of financial and operational data.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
