The Financial Literacy Educator delivers engaging, practical financial education programs that help individuals and families build the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed to make informed financial decisions. The Educator presents workshops on a wide variety of topics including budgeting, credit, banking, homeownership, and fraud preventio in partnership with libraries, schools, employers, social service agencies, townships, and other community organizations. This position also represents CCCSNI at community events and helps expand awareness of the organization’s financial education and counseling services.
Success in this role means making financial information understandable, relevant, and useful to people with a wide range of financial backgrounds. The successful Educator will be engaging and comfortable speaking to groups, adapting presentations to different audiences, developing positive relationships with community partners, and helping participants connect what they learn to their own financial lives. Success will also be reflected in workshop participation, participant feedback, increased financial knowledge and confidence, and connections to CCCSNI counseling services when additional assistance is needed.
The Financial Literacy Educator serves as an important connection between CCCSNI and the communities we serve. While our counselors provide individualized assistance to people facing housing and financial challenges, our education programs allow us to reach individuals earlier and provide tools that can help prevent financial hardship. Through workshops, outreach, and community partnerships, the Educator expands CCCSNI’s reach and supports our mission to strengthen and empower communities through financial and housing education and counseling.
