An established industry player is seeking a Financial Investigator I to join their Human Trafficking Unit. This position is TIME-LIMITED through January 2029. It is full-time (40 hours per week) with State Benefits for a limited time. Questions concerning the time-limited status may be directed at the interview stage.

The Financial Investigator I position is within the Human Trafficking Unit (HTU) of the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI). It is a non-sworn role assigned to one of the eight regional district offices near the candidate's residence. The SBI enforces North Carolina laws by investigating crimes, analyzing evidence, and supporting local law enforcement. The HTU focuses on identifying and rescuing victims of human trafficking, investigating all forms of trafficking, and prosecuting traffickers using a victim-centered approach.
This is a full-time role with benefits. Occasional overnight travel is required.

Candidates will undergo a comprehensive background check, including polygraph, credit, arrest checks, reference interviews, education verification, drug screening, and fingerprinting.
Education and experience can be combined to meet the requirements: a Bachelor's degree in relevant fields plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination.
