Job summary

Independent Bank in Ionia, MI is seeking a Financial Investigations Intern to join our Loss Prevention team. You will assist with monitoring and mitigating risk through transaction reviews and investigations, reporting to the VP of Loss Prevention, in a full-time internship.

Pursuing a degree in business, criminal justice or related field, you will gain real-world experience while collaborating with Fraud Investigators and internal partners, with potential flexible working arrangements.

Qualifications

• Banking experience is required.
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
• Pursuing a degree in business, criminal justice or related field.
• Self-directed, assertive, able to prioritize multiple duties and meet deadlines.
• Research, investigation, and analytical ability required.
• Ability to interact professionally with internal and external customers.
• Strong organizational skills and familiarity with Windows-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Conduct reviews of suspicious transaction activity and assist with review of ATM and MasterCard debit card transaction disputes.
• Complete all regular reporting in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with BSA analysts in detecting suspicious transaction activity.
• Assist product and business managers as necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
