Job summary

The Financial Institution Internship at the FDIC is a one-year paid program in San Francisco, assigned to the Division of Depositor and Consumer Protection (DCP). Interns will participate in insured financial institution examinations and may convert to a Financial Institution Specialist (Compliance) after program completion, depending on FDIC needs.

Qualifications

Have completed two full academic years in an accredited college/university degree program.
Be seeking a degree with a major in accounting, banking, business administration, economics, finance, marketing, or related fields.
Have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

Responsibilities

Assess the adequacy and strength of the Compliance Management System.
Examine disclosures, statements, advertisements, and information for regulatory compliance.
Review HMDA loan application data for accuracy and reporting procedures.
Review adverse action notices for Fair Credit Reporting and ECOA compliance.
Participate in discussing the examination process and the evaluation of the bank's Compliance Management System.
Review CRA regulations and Flood Insurance requirements as applicable.
Prepare a summary of each performance factor describing why a rating was assigned.
