Job summary

The Village for Families & Children in Hartford, CT is seeking a Financial Empowerment Specialist to help individuals and families achieve financial stability. You will provide one-on-one coaching, housing counseling, budgeting support, and group education while collaborating with internal teams and community partners.

Starting salary is $44,000 annually. This full-time role requires evening/weekend availability and a commitment to culturally competent service in a diverse community.

Qualifications

• A minimum of two years' experience as a case manager, individual counselor/coach or group facilitator, preferably in financial education and/or counseling.
• Experience with housing counseling, budgeting, and debt reduction is preferred.
• Knowledge of public housing and RAP programs is helpful.
• Bilingual English/Spanish abilities are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one coaching and case management to help clients access housing and resources.
• Develop and monitor budgets and assist with debt reduction and financial goal achievement.
• Offer financial education workshops and counseling to clients.
• Coordinate care with internal and external partners for continuum of service.
• Recruit clients, conduct outreach, and collect/report data for funders.
