Job description

Company Description

EVI Industries, Inc. (NYSE American: EVI) is the only U.S. public company focused exclusively on the laundry industry, operating in two segments. Through its wholly owned subsidiaries, EVI distributes, installs, and services commercial laundry equipment, parts, and accessories across the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, and Latin America. Since Henry M. Nahmad acquired a controlling interest in the Company in 2015, EVI has executed a long-term buy-and-build strategy in this segment, acquiring 32 businesses and growing revenues more than 10x. In 2026, EVI launched its Consumer Garment Care Services segment with its 33rd acquisition, Sudsies, a premium local dry cleaner in Miami. The segment is built on the same laundry expertise, strategy, and principles that have driven the commercial business. Today, EVI's operating businesses are led by ambitious people, including many of the founders of the businesses we've acquired, united by an entrepreneurial culture and shared core values.

Role Description

The Financial Due Diligence Associate is a full-time, on-site role based in Miami, FL, and serves as a key driver of EVI’s acquisition strategy, leading the due diligence process for targets from initial outreach through closing. This role is responsible for developing a comprehensive understanding of each business, from its financial performance and quality of earnings to its people, assets, sales and point-of-sale systems, vendor relationships, and accounting practices. Working directly with sellers, their related parties, and EVI’s M&A team and senior leadership, the associate compiles and analyzes target information, resolves open questions, and translates findings into clear insights that shape deal decisions. With an active and growing acquisition pipeline, this role offers a front-row seat to EVI’s buy-and-build strategy and the opportunity to directly influence which businesses join the EVI family and how they are positioned for success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and manage financial due diligence request lists, track outstanding items, and follow up with sellers, bookkeepers, and outside accountants to obtain complete documentation
  • Compile target financial statements from seller-provided records such as bookkeeping files, bank statements, and tax returns, consolidating across years and entities and providing quality of earnings analyses
  • Gather and review operational diligence, including employee information and payroll records, fixed asset and equipment listings, POS systems and sales reporting, vendor relationships, and accounting processes
  • Own diligence request lists for each target, following up with sellers, bookkeepers, and outside accountants until every item is received
  • Document findings clearly, separating errors in the records from information still outstanding, with a recommended next step for each
  • Report diligence status and findings to the M&A team and senior leadership
  • Assist with other transaction-related work as needed
Qualifications
  • 3 –7 years of experience in M&A, accounting, FP&A, audit, transaction services, or financial due diligence
  • Strong working knowledge of financial statements, bank reconciliations, sales tax, payroll, and small business tax returns
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to work through incomplete or disorganized records and determine what is needed to complete the picture
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify issues and risks, and explain findings clearly and concisely
  • Resourceful and self-directed, with the ability to manage multiple targets simultaneously and drive open items to completion with limited direction
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with business owners, outside accountants, and internal teams
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA a plus
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting systems preferred
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to work on-site in Miami, FL on a consistent schedule
  • Ability to travel in connection with M&A transactions
