Summary

The Fleet Management Solutions Financial Data Analytics team is responsible for data mining, financial analysis, and reporting on the 150,000 vehicles owned by Ryder. The team determines optimal asset management strategies to maximize profitability and works with Operations leadership to implement solutions, calculating financial improvements from those actions. Our team operates in a fast-paced environment, utilizing cutting-edge analytics to promote data-driven decision making throughout the organization.

Essential Functions
  • Actively seek out new areas of potential improvement, drilling into details to find root causes. This requires questioning assumptions and a drive for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with business partners to identify cost savings, model impacts on P&L, assess risks, create reports to measure progress, and report savings to senior leadership.
  • Mine data in SQL to discover trends and causes of profitability changes, advise on potential actions to improve results.
  • Create automated Power BI reports to communicate performance metrics and highlight areas for improvement.
  • Ensure data completeness and accuracy by working with Operations to understand business processes and with IT to understand data processing and storage.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
  • Proficiency with Excel, SQL, and Power BI.
  • Knowledge of SQL, R, Python, or other scripting languages.
  • Advanced financial modeling skills and understanding of how business actions impact financial statements.
  • Proven ability to drive business results using data insights.
  • Passion for analyzing large data sets and collaborating with stakeholders to improve outcomes.
  • Ability to make recommendations to senior management based on data.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Math, or related field.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in Corporate Finance, Applied Statistical Analysis, or Transportation Industrial Engineering is preferred.

Compensation Information

The offered compensation may vary based on experience, education, location, market data, and other factors. The position may be eligible for bonuses, commissions, or long-term incentives. Salary ranges are:

  • Minimum: $80,000
  • Maximum: $100,000
