Financial Data Analytics Business Partner - REMOTE

Job Summary

The Fleet Management Solutions Financial Data Analytics team is responsible for data mining, financial analysis, and reporting on Ryder's fleet of 150,000 vehicles. The team aims to optimize asset management strategies to maximize profitability, working closely with Operations leadership to implement solutions and measure financial improvements. This environment demands the use of advanced analytics to promote data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Essential Functions

• Actively seek out new improvement opportunities and analyze root causes with a willingness to challenge assumptions and pursue continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with business partners to identify cost-saving opportunities, model impacts on P&L, assess risks, create progress reports, and communicate savings to senior leadership.
• Mine data using SQL to identify trends, determine cause-and-effect relationships, and advise on potential business actions.
• Create automated dashboards and reports in Power BI to communicate performance metrics and highlight areas for operational improvement.
• Ensure data quality and completeness by working with Operations and IT to understand business processes and data storage.

Additional Responsibilities

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities

• Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and Power BI.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as R, Python, or similar.
• Strong understanding of financial modeling and how business actions impact financial statements.
• Proven ability to drive results through data insights.
• Passion for uncovering solutions in large data sets and collaborating with stakeholders.
• Ability to make recommendations to senior management based on data analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Math, or related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• At least 4 years of relevant experience, preferably in Corporate Finance, Applied Statistical Analysis, or Transportation Industrial Engineering.

Additional Information
