Financial Data Analytics Business Partner - REMOTE

Job Summary

The Fleet Management Solutions Financial Data Analytics team is responsible for data mining, financial analysis, and reporting on the 150,000 vehicles owned by Ryder. The team determines optimal asset management strategies to maximize profitability, collaborates with Operations leadership to implement solutions, and measures financial improvements resulting from those actions. Operating in a fast-paced environment, the team utilizes advanced analytics to promote data-driven decision making across the organization.

Essential Functions

• Actively seek out new areas for improvement, analyze root causes, question assumptions, and pursue continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with business partners to identify cost-saving opportunities, model impacts on P&L, assess risks, create progress reports, and report savings to senior leadership.
• Mine data using SQL to discover profitability trends, determine cause-and-effect relationships, and advise on potential business actions.
• Create automated reports in Power BI to communicate performance metrics and highlight areas for improvement.
• Ensure data completeness and accuracy by working with Operations to understand business processes and with IT to understand data storage and processing.

Additional Responsibilities

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

• Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and Power BI; working knowledge of SQL, R, Python, or similar scripting languages.
• Strong understanding of financial modeling and how business actions impact financial statements.
• Proven ability to drive results through data insights.
• Passion for analyzing large data sets and collaborating with stakeholders to improve outcomes.
• Ability to present recommendations confidently to senior management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Math, or related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of four years of relevant experience, with experience in Corporate Finance, Applied Statistical Analysis, or Transportation Industrial Engineering preferred.

Additional Information

This is a full-time, remote position with a salary range of $80,000 to $100,000, plus benefits including health coverage, paid time off, and a 401(k) plan.
