Summary

The Fleet Management Solutions Financial Data Analytics team is responsible for data mining, financial analysis, and reporting on the 150,000 vehicles owned by Ryder, aiming to determine optimal asset management strategies to maximize profitability. The team collaborates with Operations leadership to implement solutions and measure financial improvements resulting from those actions. Operating in a fast-paced environment, the team utilizes cutting-edge analytics to promote data-driven decision making organization-wide.

Essential Functions

• Seek out new areas for potential improvement and analyze root causes, questioning assumptions and driving continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with business partners to identify cost-saving opportunities, model impacts on P&L, assess risks, create performance reports, and report savings to senior leadership.
• Mine data in SQL to discover trends, analyze cause-and-effect relationships, and advise on potential business actions.
• Create automated Power BI reports to communicate performance metrics and highlight improvement areas.
• Ensure data completeness and accuracy by working with Operations and IT to understand business processes and data storage.

Additional Responsibilities

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities

• Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and Power BI.
• Knowledge of SQL, R, Python, or other scripting languages.
• Advanced understanding of financial modeling and business impact analysis.
• Ability to drive business results through data insights.
• Passion for analyzing large data sets and collaborating with stakeholders to improve outcomes.
• Ability to make recommendations to senior management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Math, or related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• At least 4 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in Corporate Finance, Statistical Analysis, or Transportation Industrial Engineering preferred.
