Financial Data Analytics Business Partner - REMOTE

Job Summary

The Fleet Management Solutions Financial Data Analytics team is responsible for data mining, financial analysis, and reporting on the 150,000 vehicles owned by Ryder. The team determines optimal asset management strategies to maximize profitability, collaborates with Operations leadership to implement solutions, and calculates financial improvements resulting from these actions. Operating in a fast-paced environment, the team utilizes cutting-edge analytics to promote data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Remote Work

This position is remote, allowing work from home.

Essential Functions

1. Seek out new areas for potential improvement, analyze root causes, question assumptions, and drive continuous improvement.
2. Collaborate with business partners to identify cost-saving opportunities, model impacts on P&L, assess risks, create progress reports, and report savings to senior leadership.
3. Mine data using SQL to discover trends, determine causes, and advise on potential business actions.
4. Create automated reports in Power BI to communicate performance metrics and highlight areas for improvement.
5. Ensure data completeness and accuracy by working with Operations and IT to understand business processes and data storage.

Additional Responsibilities

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities

• Proficiency with Excel, SQL, and Power BI.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as R or Python.
• Advanced understanding of financial modeling and the impact of business actions on financial statements.
• Proven ability to drive business results through data insights.
• Passion for analyzing large data sets and collaborating with stakeholders to improve outcomes.
• Ability to make recommendations to senior management based on data.
• Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Math, or related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• At least four years of relevant experience, including in Corporate Finance, Statistical Analysis, or Transportation Engineering.
