Summary

The Fleet Management Solutions Financial Data Analytics team is responsible for data mining, financial analysis, and reporting on the 150,000 vehicles owned by Ryder. The team determines optimal asset management strategies to maximize profitability and collaborates with Operations leadership to implement solutions and measure financial improvements. Operating in a fast-paced environment, we utilize cutting-edge analytics to promote data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Essential Functions

• Seek out potential improvements, analyze root causes, question assumptions, and pursue continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with business partners to identify cost-saving opportunities, model impacts on P&L, assess risks, create reports, and present savings to senior leadership.
• Mine data using SQL to discover trends, determine cause-and-effect, and advise on potential actions.
• Create automated Power BI reports to communicate metrics and highlight improvement areas.
• Ensure data completeness and accuracy by working with Operations and IT to understand business processes and data storage.

Additional Responsibilities

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities

• Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and Power BI.
• Knowledge of SQL, R, Python, or other scripting languages.
• Advanced financial modeling skills and understanding of how business actions impact financial statements.
• Proven ability to drive results with data insights.
• Passion for uncovering solutions in large data sets and collaborating with stakeholders.
• Ability to make recommendations to senior management.
• Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Math, or related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• At least 4 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in Corporate Finance, Statistical Analysis, or Transportation Industrial Engineering preferred.
