Financial Data Analytics Business Partner - REMOTE

Job Overview

The Fleet Management Solutions Financial Data Analytics team is responsible for data mining, financial analysis, and reporting on Ryder's fleet of 150,000 vehicles. The team aims to optimize asset management strategies to maximize profitability and collaborates with Operations leadership to implement solutions and measure financial improvements. Operating in a fast-paced environment, the team utilizes advanced analytics to support data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Essential Functions

• Seek out new areas for improvement and analyze root causes, demonstrating curiosity and a drive for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with business partners to identify cost-saving opportunities, model impacts on P&L, assess risks, create reports to track progress, and communicate savings to leadership.
• Use SQL to mine data for trends, analyze profitability, and advise on potential actions.
• Develop automated reports in Power BI to visualize performance metrics and highlight areas for operational improvement.
• Ensure data accuracy and completeness by working closely with Operations and IT to understand business processes and data handling.

Additional Responsibilities

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

• Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and Power BI.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as R or Python.
• Strong understanding of financial modeling and the impact of business actions on financial statements.
• Proven ability to generate business results through data insights.
• Passion for analyzing large data sets and collaborating with stakeholders to improve outcomes.
• Ability to make recommendations to senior management based on data analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Educational and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Math, or related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• At least 4 years of relevant experience, preferably in Corporate Finance, Statistical Analysis, or Transportation Industrial Engineering.

Additional Information
