Position Summary:

Magna Legal Services is seeking an analytically inclined and detail-oriented Financial Data Analyst to join our team. This role is responsible for evaluating financial data to support strategic business decisions. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical capabilities, a solid foundation in financial reporting, and a keen ability to deliver actionable insights that enhance organizational performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze Financial Data: Review current and historical financial performance to identify trends, variances, and insights.
• Prepare Reports: Compile and present clear, data-driven financial reports to senior leadership.
• Consult with Management: Partner with management to support long-term commercial planning and budgeting.
• Conduct Variance Analyses: Perform variance analyses to compare actual results against budgets and forecasts, clearly highlighting the main drivers in a concise and actionable manner.
• Provide Actionable Insights: Translate complex financial data into strategic recommendations that support business decisions and improve performance.

Other Responsibilities:

• Developing efficiencies and process improvements within the team’s work streams.
• Partnering with departmental leaders to determine and support financial analysis needs.
• Developing, coordinating, and reporting budgets and forecasts for individual departments.
• Run annual budgets and forecasts, including the roll-out of regular reforecasting cycles and processes.
• Prepare management reporting packs in a timely and clear fashion, with insights and analysis

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• 1 to 2 years of experience in financial analysis or a closely related role
• Big 6 (non-audit) or investment banking experience strongly preferred
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Excel test required during interview process)
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain key financial drivers and variances to stakeholders
• Solid understanding of core financial principles and business operations

Working Conditions:

• Full-time position
• Fully remote; proximity to NYC/Philadelphia preferred

Compensation: USD $75,000 - $85,000 per year.

An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
