Job summary

Western Union in Denver, CO is seeking a data analytics professional to join the Financial Intelligence Unit. You will apply advanced analytics, data science, and compliance collaboration to identify, investigate, and mitigate financial crime risks.

You will develop analytical models, risk scoring, dashboards, and case-support tools to enable investigators and leadership to make informed decisions. Hybrid work with in-office days is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a data-related field or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of advanced analytics or financial crime analytics.
• 2+ years with SQL and Python or R.
• Experience building analytical models, risk scoring, or data-driven solutions.
• Experience creating dashboards with Tableau or Power BI.
• Experience performing data analysis to identify trends or risks.
• Experience documenting methods and processes.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities to deadlines.
• Professional English language proficiency.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Analyze transaction activity, customer data, and datasets to identify unusual patterns and risks.
• Develop analytical models and risk scoring methodologies to enhance detection.
• Create dashboards, visualizations, and automated reporting for investigators.
• Conduct network and relationship analysis to uncover hidden connections.
• Translate findings into clear, actionable intelligence for stakeholders.
• Partner with compliance, legal, tech, risk, and investigative teams on strategies.
• Support AI, automation, and emerging tech within FIU operations.
• Automate repetitive analytics to improve efficiency and consistency.
• Maintain methodologies, procedures, and audit trails for governance.
• Support departmental reporting and workforce planning.
