VCU Health is looking for a Financial Counseling Supervisor to lead the financial counseling department. What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Supervise daily operations and staff within the financial counseling department
- Ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations related to healthcare programs
- Provide training for staff to maintain Certified Application Counselor (CAC) certification
- Manage financial reporting and payment arrangements for services
- Participate in audits and system upgrades related to financial counseling processes
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in health insurance, healthcare billing, or financial counseling
- Minimum of one (1) year of lead or supervisory experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Certification as a Certified Application Counselor (CAC) or Certified Revenue Cycle Specialist-Institutional (CRCS-I) required within one year of employment
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Associate Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or closely related field
- Two (2) or more years of previous supervisory or management experience
- Two (2) years of experience in State and Government Insurance programs
- Excellent analytical skills and strong written and verbal communication skills
