Qualifications

• Two (2) years’ experience in health care verifications and self-pay collections preferred.
• Ability to pass a Level 2 Background Investigation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with obtaining required income documentation for patients qualifying for Charity/Indigent Care.
• Make necessary phone calls and generate letters to patients and/or family members for self-pay balances.
• Attain and maintain accounts receivable and assist in reviewing/selecting accounts for outside collection agencies.
• Secure patient valuables in accordance with established policy and procedures.

Position Summary

The Financial Counselor is responsible for maintaining records in patient accounting, insurance reimbursement and billing and collection processing. Additionally, this role will be responsible for verifying insurance benefits on all admissions as well as potential admissions; collections with self-pay accounts on the front and back end of a patient’s stay.

Job Duties/Respnsibilities

• Assist with Obtaining required income documentation and forms for patients who qualify for Charity/Indigent Care.
