Job summary

Blessing Health System is seeking a Financial Account Specialist to assist patients with understanding financial obligations and the billing process. You will communicate over the phone and in person, helping guide patients through insurance and available assistance programs.

The role supports the Revenue Cycle, requiring strong communication, confidentiality, and teamwork in a healthcare setting. This is a non-exempt, hourly position in Quincy, IL.

Qualifications

• Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: 3 years’ healthcare patient account experience.
• Preferred: Experience with healthcare insurance processes.

Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for working with patients, over the phone and face to face, to inform them of their financial obligations, explain billing and insurance processes, and determine eligibility for financial programs. The Financial Account Specialist services the Blessing Health System and reports within the Revenue Cycle.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training/Experience:

REQUIRED:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office Software.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive data, work collaboratively and support efforts of team members, demonstration exceptional customer service and be able to work independently.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills

PREFERRED:

3 years’ experience in Healthcare setting with emphasis on patient account principals

Experience in healthcare insurance

Pay Status:

NON-EXEMPT HOURLY
