Justice Federal Credit Union seeks a results-driven Collector in Chantilly, VA. The role focuses on delinquency collection, advising members on repayment options, and ensuring accurate posting of payments to delinquent loans.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years in a related financial services setting and excellent communication and negotiation skills. Standard schedule is 40 hours weekly, Monday–Friday, with a hiring bonus of $500.00.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years of similar experience in credit union/financial institution/call center preferred.
• Exceptional communication with strong member service and negotiation skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and legal documents (garnishments, judgments, bankruptcy).
• Physical ability to push/pull/lift up to 50 lbs and use typical office equipment.

Overview

We are seeking member-driven candidates with exceptional communication and analytical thinking skills for the position of Collector. This role is responsible for the collection of delinquent loan debts in alignment with credit union policies and procedures, supporting Members' financial health while safeguarding the credit union's loan portfolio.

Standard schedule: 40 hours weekly, Monday-Friday, with arrival between 9:00-10:00 a.m. and departure between 5:30-6:30 p.m. Exact schedule to be discussed and agreed upon during the interview.

New employees may be eligible for a hiring bonus of $500.00.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitors delinquent accounts and conducts consistent outreach to Members with past-due accounts.
• Provides credit counseling and proposes tailored solutions to enhance Members' financial stability.
• Accurately posts payments on delinquent loans in accordance with established guidelines.

Required Skills and Experience

• A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Additional experience as a substitution for a degree may be considered.
• One to three years of similar or related experience, preferably in a credit union, financial institution, or call center.
• Exceptional communication skills with strong Member service and negotiation capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Skilled in interpreting and applying policies, procedures, and legal documents, including garnishments, judgments, and bankruptcy filings.
• Must be able to push, pull, or lift up to 50 lbs., as needed, and requires extended periods of sitting and/or standing and to be able to use PC, copier, scanner, fax, etc.
