Position Overview
The Financial Coordinator supports the Accounting department by managing daily financial operations, maintaining accurate records, and assisting in financial reporting and analysis. Based at the Home Office, this role plays a key part in ensuring the efficiency of financial processes, compliance with policies, and alignment with organizational goals. The Financial Coordinator collaborates closely with the Operations team to support timely and accurate financial operations.
Key Accountabilities
- Financial Operations Management
- Handle daily financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Ensure financial records are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with organizational standards.
- Account Reconciliation
- Conduct regular reconciliations of accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain organized records to support accurate financial reporting.
- Reporting and Analysis
- Assist in preparing financial reports and statements for internal and external use.
- Support the analysis of financial data to provide actionable insights to leadership.
- Compliance and Process Improvement
- Ensure financial processes comply with internal policies and regulatory standards.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Duties
- Review and audit all accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Perform account reconciliations, including general ledger and bank statements.
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records in compliance with organizational policies.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Monitor and track expenses to ensure adherence to budgets.
- Research and resolve financial discrepancies in collaboration with team members.
- Support audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
- Assist with special projects or initiatives related to financial operations.
Requirements
- Candidate must be at least 18 years of age;
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Preferred experience of one to three years of experience in financial coordination, accounting, or a related role.
- Experience in senior living, healthcare, or a similar industry is a plus.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Yardi, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration across teams.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting while working at a computer or attending virtual or in-person meetings.
- Ability to lift and carry materials or equipment weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Occasional travel to support audits or team collaboration as needed.
