Job summary

Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Financial Coordinator to serve as a financial consultant for transplant patients. You will maintain patient demographics and insurance data, verify benefits, obtain PCP referrals, and secure timely authorizations for transplant services.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Financial Coordinator serves as a financial consultant for the facilities transplant patients. Responsibilities include maintaining demographic and insurance information on all patients, verifying insurance benefits, obtaining PCP referrals, and obtaining timely authorization for all outpatient and inpatient transplant services. The Financial Coordinator will serve as the financial liaison between the transplant clinic staff , physicians and the patient/families. Coordinators will work independently or in conjunction with the Financial Counselor ensuring that prospective candidates for transplantation are fully aware of their transplant benefits.

What qualifications you will need:

High School or G.E.D.

Experience: Minimum two years experience in the field of insurance authorization and clearance for medical services

Employee completes initial and ongoing training and competencies as defined by service line, facility and department/unit which are specific to the needs of the patient population served (if applicable).
