Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in insurance verification, prior authorizations, patient financial services or medical billing.
• Fertility clinic experience is a plus but not required.
• Strong communication and attention to detail, with patient confidentiality

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed treatment estimates and communicate patient financial responsibility.
• Educate patients about insurance benefits, coverage, exclusions, and out-of-pocket costs.
• Submit prior authorization requests with required clinical documentation.
• Complete financial clearance requirements prior to treatment.
• Communicate with patients via phone, email, portal, and in person about benefits and costs.
• Review insurance correspondence, remittances, and denials and coordinate follow-up.
• Monitor patient balances and ensure payments are collected and applied.
• Respond to requests for medical records and supporting documentation.
• Maintain financial documentation in the EMR system.
• Monitor queues and calls to address patient needs promptly.
• Post provider and laboratory charges accurately and timely.
• Collaborate across departments to support patient care.
• Support additional financial and operational responsibilities as needed.

Helping Patients Navigate the Financial Side of Fertility Care

At Atlantic Fertility, we know that understanding insurance coverage and treatment costs can be one of the most challenging parts of a patient's fertility journey. Our Financial Coordinators help make that process easier by providing patients with clear, accurate information and guidance throughout their care.

We are seeking a Financial Coordinator who is organized, detail-oriented, and confident navigating insurance and financial information. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, communicating with patients, and working collaboratively to keep treatment moving forward.

The Role

As a Financial Coordinator, you will serve as a key financial resource for our patients. You'll help patients understand their benefits and treatment costs, coordinate insurance requirements, and ensure financial requirements are completed before treatment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Prepare detailed treatment estimates and clearly communicate patient financial responsibility.
• Educate patients about insurance benefits, coverage limitations, exclusions, and out-of-pocket costs.
• Submit prior authorization requests with required clinical documentation and follow through on authorization requirements.
• Complete financial clearance requirements prior to treatment.
• Communicate with patients by phone, email, portal, and in person regarding benefits, treatment costs, payments, and financial questions.
• Review insurance correspondence, remittances, and denials and coordinate appropriate follow-up.
• Monitor patient balances and work with team members to ensure required payments are collected and applied correctly.
• Respond to insurance requests for medical records and supporting documentation.
• Maintain accurate and timely financial documentation within the electronic medical record.
• Monitor financial work queues, incoming calls, and voicemail to ensure patient needs are addressed promptly.
• Post assigned provider and laboratory charges accurately and timely.
• Works collaboratively across departments to support patient care.
• Support additional financial and operational responsibilities as needed.

Experience

3+ years of experience with insurance benefits verification, prior authorizations, patient financial services, and medical billing.

Previous fertility experience is a plus but is not required. Candidates with strong financial knowledge and a willingness to learn the unique financial aspects of fertility care are encouraged to apply.
