Job summary

Clayton Homes is seeking a Regional Financial Controller to lead all regional accounting activities, implement best practices, and strengthen internal controls across multiple divisions. You will oversee general ledger, AP, fixed assets, job costing, inventory, revenue recognition, and intercompany processes, guiding the team to accurate month-end and quarter-end closes.

Qualifications

  • BS in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA preferred.
  • 5–7+ years of accounting experience.
  • Residential construction or homebuilding experience desirable.
  • Manufacturing accounting experience a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and construction industry regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all accounting functions: General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Job Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, Revenue Recognition, JV Accounting.
  • Assist in monthly financial reporting and analyses for all divisions.
  • Develop and maintain financial reporting, planning and budgeting systems for the region.
  • Ensure all policies are documented and followed; provide accounting guidance to divisions.
  • Provide variance analysis and support month-end close.
  • Lead and develop the accounting team and processes.

## Financial Controller (Regional)Applylocations: Buford, GAtime type: Full timeposted on: Posted Todayjob requisition id: JR132184### *GENERAL FUNCTION:*The Financial Controller (Regional) is responsible for general accounting responsibilities, development of accounting processes and best practices, maintaining internal controls and the overall leadership of the accounting team.### *SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** Manage all accounting functions, including: + General Ledger + Accounts Payable + Fixed Assets + Job Cost Accounting + Inventory Accounting + Revenue Recognition + Joint Venture Accounting* Assists in monthly financial reporting, financial statement preparation and analysis for all divisions.* Contributes to the development and maintenance of financial reporting, planning and budgeting systems for the region.* Ensures that all corporate and required accounting policies and procedures are documented and followed by the organization.* Provides accounting guidance for all divisions including revenue recognition, intercompany billings, intra-division billing for equipment usage, forecasts, intercompany eliminations and fixed asset additions.* Provides variance analysis for Comparative Balance Sheets and Income Statements.* Responsible for assisting with maintenance and enhancement of financial systems to ensure data integrity and improve operational efficiency.* Assists Controller with reviews of month-end and quarter-end schedules and reconciliations prepared by the accounting team.* Maintain strong internal controls and segregation of duties.* Responsible for regional travel on quarterly basis.### *PREREQUISITES FOR SUCCESS:** BS in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA preferred.* 5-7+ years of accounting experience required. Experience in residential construction or homebuilding is highly desirable. Manufacturing accounting experience is a plus.* Microsoft Dynamics SL, Oracle, and/or Sage experience preferred.* Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles, including job costing, work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, pro forma underwriting, and progress billing.* Ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights to senior management.
