Responsibilities

• This role will own day-to-day financial operations of six entities.
• Support CFO with budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and industry regulations.
• Manage revenue recognition and royalty accounting for streaming DSPs.
• Develop and implement financial controls to improve efficiency.
• Monitor cash flow, AP/AR, and general ledger accounting.
• Collaborate with auditors, tax advisors, and legal teams.
• Prepare financial statements, KPIs, and management reports.
• Contribute to strategic financial planning and investment analysis.
• Stay updated on digital music distribution and licensing trends.
• Lead and mentor finance staff in a fast-paced environment.

Anotherland is a dynamic and growing record label, publishing company, creative agency and catalog acquisition fund dedicated to producing, distributing and commercializing high-quality music across various genres. We work closely with artists, producers, and distribution platforms to bring innovative sounds to global audiences. We are seeking an experiencedFinancial Controller / Director of Finance to oversee and enhance our financial operations with expertise inUS GAAPandstreaming DSP accounting.

Role Responsibilities:

• This role will own the day-to-day operational financial responsibility of the business and must be capable of autonomously handling all financial and accounting aspects of the six business entities.
• Support CFO by managing all financial operations and internal and external financial reporting, including budgeting and forecasting.
• Ensure compliance withUS GAAPand industry-specific financial regulations.
• Manage revenue recognition and royalty accounting related to streamingDSPs (Digital Service Providers)such as Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music.
• Develop and implement financial controls and processes to enhance efficiency.
• Monitor cash flow, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger accounting.
• Work closely with CFO, external auditors, tax advisors, and legal teams to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Generate and present financial statements, reports, and key performance indicators to CFO and senior management.
• Assist in strategic financial planning, including evaluating new business opportunities and investment analysis.
• Stay up-to-date with trends in digital music distribution and licensing.

Requirements:

• PREFERENCE GIVEN TO THOSE WITH - Experience in music industry, DSP accounting and royalty reporting.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting or finance (CPA preferred).
• 10+ years of experiencein financial management, preferably within the music, media, or entertainment industry – with proven track record of all responsibilities indicated above.
• Professional knowledge ofUS GAAPand revenue recognition principles.
• Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving industry with tight deadlines.
