Job summary

JPMorgan Chase's Financial Control team in Columbus, OH is seeking a Financial Controller Associate to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of the Firm’s books, with a focus on the general ledger, compliance with GLRS standards, and robust controls across the business lifecycle.

You will participate in balance sheet reconciliation, substantiation, GLRS reporting, and month-end close, collaborating with risk managers and product teams to deliver reliable financial data while maintaining strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Minimum 3+ years of related experience
• Strong understanding of securities and derivatives products; able to critically challenge with the goal of identifying control issues
• General Ledger, financial reporting and month end close responsibilities experience
• Comfortable liaising with business and risk managers; relationships and networks within the firm's IB community
• Able to build and maintain partnerships within product aligned businesses and across other corporate financial, treasury, and accounting groups
• Able to understand business drivers and requirements and influence middle and front office partners to deliver solutions
• Strong analytical skills: understand workings of complex processing and GL systems across infrastructure and their interrelationships
• Excellent desktop/spreadsheet/database skills
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills; able to multi-task in a changing environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• CPA license beneficial in some FFAR roles, but not required
• Knowledge of other financial reporting systems beneficial

Responsibilities

• Ensure the accuracy and validity of line of business general ledger accounts, including adherence to GLRS standards
• Ensure adherence to P&L and Balance Sheet controls owned by Financial Control, including identifying and implementing opportunities for efficiency
• Analyze, communicate, and resolve material variances between the general ledger and upstream systems, as defined by line of business
