Job summary

Ascendo Resources is seeking a Controller to scale the accounting function across multiple entities in a highly regulated environment, reporting to executive leadership. The role covers full-cycle close, consolidation, intercompany activity, and statutory filings.

You will build processes, lead a growing team, and ensure accurate, timely financials across states, while working with ownership and governing bodies.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory role.
• Experience in a regulated, multi-entity, multi-state environment.
• Strong technical accounting foundation and comfort with statutory or regulatory reporting requirements.
• CPA preferred or equivalent professional certification.

Responsibilities

• Full-cycle monthly close across multiple legal entities, including consolidation and intercompany activity.
• GAAP and regulatory financial reporting, including required statutory filings.
• Revenue and settlement accounting tied to the client''s core operating activity.
• Multi-state regulatory compliance, tax filings, and reporting calendars.
• External audit, regulatory examination, and third-party reporting coordination.
• Internal controls, accounting policy, and process improvement as the company scales.
• Monthly reporting packages and analysis for executive leadership and ownership.
• Leadership and development of the accounting team.

They are hiring a Controller to lead accounting operations across multiple legal entities, reporting into executive leadership. This is a high-visibility seat with direct exposure to ownership.

What You'll Own

• Full-cycle monthly close across multiple legal entities, including consolidation and intercompany activity
• GAAP and regulatory financial reporting, including required statutory filings

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
• Systems aptitude and comfort improving processes rather than inheriting them
• Clear communicator who can present financials to non-financial stakeholders
