Job Overview

We are seeking a strategic and execution-oriented Controller to oversee the accounting and financial operations of the company. The ideal candidate is a CPA with a strong FP&A background, thrives in fast-paced environments, and has experience in the food & beverage industry—especially with POS systems like Toast. This role is critical to scaling financial operations, improving controls, enabling data-driven decisions, and supporting the company’s growth trajectory.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting Operations & Financial Control

• Own and streamline the month-end close, account reconciliations, and internal control processes.
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
• Oversee AP, AR, payroll accounting, and inventory accounting.
• Maintain and improve systems integrations between accounting platforms and POS tools (e.g., Toast).
• Provide support with external auditors and tax advisors.

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

• Partner with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Build and enhance financial models to support business decisions across departments.
• Provide performance dashboards, KPI tracking, and scenario analysis.
• Monitor cash flow and working capital needs; recommend optimizations.

Leadership & Process Improvement

• Design and implement SOPs and policies that scale with growth.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Stores, Retail, Culinary, Operations, and Marketing teams to ensure accurate reporting and actionable insights.

Qualifications

• CPA strongly preferred.
• Minimum 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience.
• Demonstrated FP&A skills with strong Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas, modeling).
• Experience in F&B strongly preferred.
• Detail-oriented with a hands-on, roll-up-the-sleeves mindset.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across departments and executive leadership.
