Job summary

Principal is seeking a Financial Consultant I to join the Retirement and Income Solutions – Principal Connection team. You will provide investment advisory services through our call center to a diverse client base, including direct-to-consumer prospects and participants in employer-sponsored retirement plans.

As a trusted advisor, you’ll combine financial expertise with exceptional service to help clients navigate their investment journey and build financial security with confidence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent plus 2+ years’ experience, preferably in the financial services industry.
• Ability to obtain approval as a registered representative across all 50 states and Washington, D.C.
• SIE and Series 7 licenses are required, along with Series 66, OR Series 63 and Series 65.

Responsibilities

• Provide benefit event education to participants and account holders, helping them understand needs and product solutions.
• Facilitate transactions and coordinate introductions to specialized teams as needed.
• Conduct consultative conversations focused on clients’ goals, risk tolerance, and time horizons to recommend tailored solutions.
• Maintain accurate documentation of customer interactions and ensure secure handling of data and transactions.
• Adhere to compliance and risk management standards, including regulatory training and designations.
• Manage client pipelines and follow up with applications in a timely, professional manner.
