Principal Financial Group is seeking a Financial Consultant I to provide expert investment advisory services via our call center for diverse client bases, including direct-to-consumer prospects, retail investors, and participants in employer-sponsored retirement plans.

As a trusted advisor, you will combine financial expertise with exceptional service to guide clients through their investment journey, building financial security with confidence and maintaining compliant, personalized guidance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent plus 2+ years’ experience, preferably in the financial services industry.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to establish trust and rapport over the phone.
• Proficiency with computer desktop technology and digital communication mediums.
• Detailed knowledge of retail investments products and employer-sponsored retirement plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide benefit event education to former participants and account holders, and coordinate with specialized teams as needed.
• Conduct consultative conversations focused on clients’ goals, risk tolerance, and time horizons to tailor solutions.
• Maintain accurate documentation of customer interactions and ensure secure, compliant handling of data and transactions.
• Manage client pipelines and follow-up with timely, professional communication.
