Job summary

Exelon is seeking an Accountant in Baltimore, MD to perform monthly close, prepare financial statements, and support Sarbanes-Oxley controls. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate records and timely reporting.

The role focuses on process improvements, data analysis, and communicating results to leadership. A Bachelor's in Accounting and 2–4 years of experience are expected; MBA/CPA and energy-industry exposure are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent is required.
• 2-4 years of related accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of FASB/GAAP and SOX compliance.
• Ability to document a broad range of issues in work papers and memos.
• Strong analytical skills and data evaluation ability.
• Proven project management and leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Month-end close and quarterly close with accurate and timely reporting.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly reports; analyze variances and trends.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners and present results to leadership.
• Support audits and regulatory data requests; assist with regulatory/reporting needs.
• Identify process improvements and drive special projects using new technologies.
