Job summary

The W Group in New York is seeking a Financial Case Manager to oversee resident financial management in partnership with the Administrator. You will educate applicants and families on financial policies, ensure understanding of entitlements, collect payments, and monitor balances to meet reporting obligations.

The role requires knowledge of DOH regulations, strong assessment and documentation skills, and ability to coordinate with social services, billing, and management to sustain accurate

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 1 year of full-time experience serving dependent adults; or
  • Associate’s degree with 3 years of full-time experience serving dependent adults.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure residents are assisted in making applications for and maintaining health and other necessary benefits.
  • Assist residents in applying for and maintaining income entitlements including SSI, SSP and SSA benefits.
  • Ensure distribution of residents' funds (PNA/PA) in compliance with NYS DOH regulations.
  • Ensure timely collection of room and board payments and maintain all benefits in good standing at all times.
  • Maintain resident ledgers month to month.
  • Assist residents in budgeting as needed.
  • Communicate with SSA representative to coordinate resident benefits.
  • Coordinate with residents to address any financial-related issues as appropriate.
  • Track and record accounting transactions for all representative payees.
  • Work collaboratively with billing, case management and other departments to ensure complete information related to residents’ financial status.

The FinancialCase Manager is responsible, in partnership with theAdministrator,for allresident relatedfinancial managementprocessesin the facility. The FinancialCase Manager is responsible to provide all necessary information toapplicants, referral sources and families,required to make an informed decision regarding facility admission and educate applicants on the financial policy for full comprehension of payment expectations. The primary responsibility of theFinancialCaseManager is to ensure residents understandtheirfinancial entitlements, collect payments, and monitor and collect outstanding balances. Responsibilities include oversight of resident’s finance and assurance that The W Group meets federal, state, and local financial reporting obligations.


Position Qualifications:


  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accreditedcollege andone year of full-time experience in the provision of services to a dependent adult population; or.

  • An associate’s degree from an accredited college and three years of full-time experience in the provision of services to a dependent adult population.


Position Requirements:


  • Working knowledge of DOH regulations as they pertain toassisted living billing processes.

  • Possess excellent assessment and documentation skills.

  • Effectively and appropriately communicate with employees, residents, caregivers, family, and medical and community affiliates to develop and maintain positive relationships.

  • Posesa high level of knowledge regarding SS/SSI/SSP benefits, coordination of benefits, insurance verification and Medicaid eligibility.

  • Working knowledge of PNA/PA NYS DOH regulatory standards.

  • Prior experience maintaining financial records and reconciling accounts.
