Summary:

The Financial Benefits Analyst supports financial analysis related to clients’ group benefits programs. They collaborate with the financial support team to assist Account Managers and Benefits Consultants, providing benefit and financial illustrations for client evaluation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Draft accurate market exhibits for quarterly and annual meetings
  • Assist with carrier negotiations
  • Draft and review client utilization reports, analyze data, and identify opportunities for plan improvements
  • Analyze industry benchmarks to assess client competitiveness
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with carrier partners
  • Lead on RFP processes during annual marketing cycles for select clients
  • Create and maintain annual rate/benefit proposals
  • Run various scenarios using models like contributions, underwriting, and plan design
  • Maintain organized and current market information in internal databases
  • Assist with special projects as needed
  • Mentor Analysts
Qualifications, Skills, and Requirements:
  • Ability to analyze data and recognize patterns
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective handling of multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and disciplined
  • Ability to coach and mentor team members
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment
Education, Training, and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Business, Finance, Math, or related preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Experience in healthcare insurance industry preferred
  • Knowledge of group insurance products preferred
  • Database experience a plus
  • Minimum 3+ years industry experience
  • Life & Health license required

The typical base pay range is $75,000 to $78,000 annually, dependent on skills, education, experience, and location. Additional benefits include variable compensation, bonuses, health, retirement, and other financial benefits, paid time off, and learning programs.
