Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree from an accredited college/university.
  • CPA license.
  • At least 5 years of accounting and/or auditing experience.
  • Management/leadership experience.
  • Active Interim Secret Clearance (or higher) and U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision to a team of accounting professionals and support staff.
  • Oversee quality control function including work paper reviews.
  • Understand Government Auditing Standards and audit procedures.
  • Deliver quality work products with minimal direction.
  • Supervise and review engagement team work.
  • Develop staff through delegation and guidance.
  • Provide SME in financial management and internal controls.
  • Review deliverables and present results to management.
  • Assist Partners in proposals, business development and practice administration.
  • Use technology to share knowledge and develop team skills.
  • Demonstrate strong customer service and communication skills.

Job description

Kearney & Company is seeking a Manager to join our team! The Financial Audit Manager will be responsible for leading engagement staff, designing audit plans, developing and maintaining productive client relationships and communicating effectively with audit stakeholders. This position requires strong communication skills, effective project management techniques and advanced understanding of audit and accounting standards.

Additional skills and responsibilities are defined below:
  • Provide the first line of supervision to a team of accounting professionals and support staff
  • Responsible for the general oversight of the quality control function, including overall work paper review
  • Understanding of Government Auditing Standards, audit procedures, and financial analysis techniques
  • Self-starter, takes the initiative to deliver quality work products to the client with little direction from supervisor
  • Supervise and review work performed by other staff
  • Develop people through effectively delegating tasks and providing guidance to staff
  • Provide subject matter technical expertise to delivery team in financial management areas of financial reporting, internal control, and/or financial business systems
  • Review draft deliverables prepared by engagement teams and present final results to management
  • Assist Partners/Principals and Senior Managers in the creation of proposals, business development, and practice administration
  • Utilize technology to share knowledge with team members, develop skills, and continually learn
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Required Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree from an accredited college/university
  • CPA license
  • At least 5 years of accounting and/or auditing experience
  • Management/leadership experience
  • Must have an active Interim Secret Clearance (or higher, such as Secret, Top Secret or TS/SCI) to be considered for this role (requires U.S. citizenship)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with Federal and/or DoD clients a plus
  • MBA/MS degree from an accredited college/university

The expected salary range for this position is between $77,000 and $125,000. This range is representative of base pay only and does not include straight time pay for hours worked over 40 per week, company contributions towards paid benefits, and/or bonuses. Actual compensation (meeting or exceeding the range) will be determined based on specific experience, education, work location, clearance level, and other factors permitted by law. This position is eligible for bonuses (when applicable).
