Purpose: Are you a skilled financial or business intelligence analyst looking to make a direct impact on two growing hospitals and support the financial and strategic decision-making of the entire organization? If so, this Financial Analyst, Senior position in UPMC Corporate Finance is for you!

In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with UPMC Passavant and UPMC St. Margaret leadership on a day-to-day basis, driving the financial success of each department within the two hospitals. Additionally, the position partners with Health Catalyst, a leading provider of data and analytics technology and services to healthcare organizations, and colleagues across UPMC to advance our organization’s cost accounting, decision support reporting, technology, and strategy.

This position is primarily based at Forbes Tower in Pittsburgh, PA, with a flexible hybrid remote/in-office schedule:

• Primary Office (up to 6 days/month): Forbes Tower, 3600 Forbes Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15213
• Offsite (up to 3 days/month): UPMC St. Margaret, 815 Freeport Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15215
• Offsite (up to 3 days/month): UPMC Passavant McCandless, 9100 Babcock Blvd, Pittsburgh, PA 15237
• Work from home on other days, with additional flexibility as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Record, classify, and summarize financial transactions according to GAAP.
• Develop financial reports for forecasting, trending, and analysis.
• Perform complex statistical, cost, and financial data analysis.
• Mentor Financial Analysts or administrative staff.
• Analyze financial data to interpret past performance and project future probabilities.
• Interpret financial transactions for business decision-making.
• Conduct studies to determine costs and recommend budget adjustments and cost improvements.
• Enhance financial support to healthcare leaders through reporting and analysis tools.
• Collaborate on activity-based costing, decision support, and systemwide cost savings initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Computer Science, Accounting, or related field.
• At least three years of experience in analysis, business intelligence, budgeting, or financial reporting; OR five years of relevant work experience with a high school diploma/GED.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Excel, Power BI, or similar tools.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of PeopleSoft, electronic medical records, activity-based costing, SQL, or similar technologies is a plus.

Preferred qualifications:

• CPA or MBA is a plus.
• Clearances such as Act 34 are preferred.
