About the role:

As a Financial Analyst, you’ll have your finger on the financial pulse of the entire organization. Working with a diverse team, you’ll be responsible develop, interpret, and implement financial concepts for financial planning and control.

About the team:

You will be part of the Finance team supporting our Banking Technical Development Team, being a true partner with the Wealth and Retirement Development team. This will be a hybrid role with expectations to be in the office a minimum of 2 days a week.

What you will be doing:
  • Track expenses on a monthly basis, comparing actual to forecasted figures and make necessary adjustments.
  • Communicate and present financial results and forecasts, ensuring reports are clear and understood, including assumptions and dependencies.
  • Detailed review of expense forecast performance and expectations with business stakeholders, identifying risks, opportunities and required actions to attain annual targets.
  • Perform technical analysis to determine present and future financial performance.
  • Investigation of existing expenditures with a view to identifying cost savings.
  • Consistent review of existing processes to identify improvements or efficiencies.
  • Gather, analyze, prepare and summarize recommendations for financial plans, acquisition activity, trended future requirements and operating forecasts.
  • Meet with department managers to discuss and establish timelines and methodologies for completing budgets.
  • Prepare reports for management summarizing results of research, analyses and evaluation of any discrepancies.
  • Researching, building and collating financial information from various sources, including department leaders and other teams to inform forecast accuracy.
  • Financial analysis as required on various business projects and related initiatives.
What you will need:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance or Accounting.
  • Minimum 3 years of Corporate Finance experience.
  • Proficient in Oracle-Hyperion.
  • Power BI or Alteryx experience would be helpful.
  • Good understanding of generally accepted accounting principles as well as company accounting policies, procedures and standards.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems using learned techniques and tools.
  • Analytical and statistical examination skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and accomplish work to ensure critical deadlines are met.
  • Communication – comfortable to explain financial performance, indicators and metrics to non-financial professionals.
  • Data management and analytical skills – handling and interpreting large sets of data.
  • Process improvement – ability to recognize and instigate improvements to existing processes and workflows.
