Michael Kors is seeking a finance-focused analyst to support NA retail store finance functions in New York. You will manage budgets, forecasts, and reporting while partnering with accounting and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate month-end close and insightful variance commentary.

The role emphasizes analytical rigor, attention to detail, and strong communication to drive profitability across store operations. Capex analysis and executive reporting are core parts of the remit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance or accounting required.
• 1–2 years of financial analysis experience.
• Retail industry experience and strong Excel skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage NA retail store rent, occupancy and capex budgets and forecasts.
• Collaborate with Accounting and cross-functional partners for month-end close.
• Analyze NA store P&L and explain variances versus budget and LY.
• Identify expense saving opportunities to boost profitability.
• Coordinate with departments to manage expense line items.
• Prepare monthly store financials for Directors and District Managers.
• Support store proforma and performance inputs with analysis.
• Produce ad hoc reports for senior executives.

What You’ll Do

• Manage North America retail store rent and occupancy and capital expenditures, including the preparation of financial budgets, monthly forecasts, and reporting.
• Partner with the Accounting team and other cross functional partners to support the month-end close process.
• Analyze North America retail store P&L and provide commentary on variances against budget, prior forecast, and LY results.
• Identify opportunities to reduce expenses and increase profitability across the retail store divisions.
• Work cross-functionally with departments to manage expense line items.
• Prepare and distribute store financials to Regional Directors and District Managers on a monthly basis.
• Support the store proforma process, providing analysis on store performance and inputs.
• Work on miscellaneous ad hoc reports and requests for senior executives.

You’ll Need to Have

• Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field, with an emphasis in finance or accounting
• 1-2 years of experience in financial analysis
• Retail industry experience
• Strong proficiency with the Microsoft Excel

• Experience with SAP, Hyperion Essbase and Planning, and AI proficiency is a plus
• Highest degree of accuracy with a strong attention to detail
