Job Description: Financial Analyst - REMOTE at Ryder System, Inc.

The Financial Analyst will provide financial and analytical support to Senior Financial Management, Group Logistics Managers, and Logistics Managers.

Essential Functions

1. Analyze unbilled items for license and sales tax prepaid items over customer contract amount.
2. Process Accounts Payable for licensing needs, including lawyer fees, broker fees, toll vendor refunds, etc.
3. Reconcile, review, and interpret business functions of all prepaid license fees, including license, title, sales, and personal property tax; set up amortization schedules and liaise with Financial Reporting & HQ Finance.
4. Provide financial training to Business Unit staff on policies, procedures, and tools.
5. Ensure Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and accurate financial projections.
6. Coordinate with Ryder's Shared Services Center, Corporate Accounting, and Tax Departments as the Licensing Team liaison.
7. Make accounting decisions related to projects, system enhancements, and analytics; maintain SOX controls and assist in quarterly audits.
8. Support upper management with projects and analysis on vehicle accounting, rebates, and regulatory compliance; lead process improvements.
9. Manage month-end closing activities, including journal entries, variance explanations, and general ledger reviews.
10. Identify operational improvement opportunities in collaboration with licensing and FMS teams for US, Puerto Rico, and Canada.
11. Conduct financial analysis and reporting on regional and branch performance, costs, and trends for continuous improvement.
