Hartford HealthCare is seeking a Financial Analyst II to join our Finance team in Farmington, CT. You will provide data-driven insights, support strategic initiatives, and partner with operational leaders to improve performance across the system.

The role emphasizes month-end close, variance analysis, KPI reporting, and delivering actionable dashboards using tools like Kodiak RCA, PeopleSoft, Excel, and Tableau. A finance or accounting background with healthcare experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Finance or Accounting or equivalent healthcare analytics experience.
• Demonstrated experience in financial analysis, reporting, and variance analysis.
• Knowledge of healthcare systems and EPIC is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive financial insights by analyzing revenue trends and variances to inform leadership.
• Develop and analyze reports monitoring monthly revenue and accounts receivable.
• Ensure month-end integrity by reconciling subsystems with the general ledger.
• Capture and report KPIs and operational performance using tools like Kodiak RCA.
• Provide data and financial expertise to internal stakeholders as a trusted advisor.
• Collaborate with cross‑department teams and contribute to strategic projects.

What You’ll Do

As a Financial Analyst II, you'll be a vital part of our Finance team, Providing support to shape data-driven decisions across the organization. You'll work closely with operational and finance leaders, leveraging your analytical expertise to guide strategic initiatives and improve performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive Financial Insights: Analyze revenue trends, identify key drivers of financial variance (month-to-month, quarter-to-quarter, year-over-year), and provide actionable insights to leadership.
• Support Decision-Making: Develop/Analyze reports for Monitor monthly revenue and AR, Month End.
• Ensure Financial Integrity: Maintain and monitor month-end file submissions, reconcile subsystems with the general ledger, and ensure compliance with internal controls and deadlines.
• Enhance Performance Visibility: Capture and report on KPIs, including payment trends, denials, and operational performance, using tools like Kodiak RCA to pinpoint areas of improvement.
• Be a Go-To Resource: Provide data, reports, and financial expertise to internal stakeholders, becoming a trusted advisor across departments.
• Lead with Collaboration: Partner with teams across the system, lead or contribute to special projects, and bring innovative solutions to complex challenges.

Qualifications

What Sets You Apart

• BA/BS degree Finance or Accounting preferred OR substituted by 10 + years’ experience in analyzing in a health care background
• Proven experience in financial analysis, reporting, and variance analysis
• Knowledge of PeopleSoft 9.2 General Ledger system a positive
• Kodiak RCA Tool Experience
• Knowledge of EPIC patient accounting system a positive
• Proficiency in data tools (e.g., Excel, Pivots, Tableau)
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Self-motivated with a passion for continuous learning and improvement
