Job description

The Clark County Finance Department is seeking motivated candidates to join as a Financial Analyst I/II in the Budget and Financial Planning Division. In this role, you'll collaborate with county departments to manage financial resources supporting public services. Responsibilities include developing and monitoring budgets, maintaining financial systems, conducting fiscal analysis and modeling, and working within a team environment.

Salary:
Financial Analyst I: $30.32 - $47.03 hourly
Financial Analyst II: $32.74 - $50.81 hourly

The Financial Analyst I position is a training underfill; successful completion of the training will lead to a non-competitive promotion to Financial Analyst II.

This examination will create an open competitive eligibility list for current and future vacancies within six months, which may be extended. Only the most qualified applicants will be considered.

Qualifications:

• Financial Analyst I: Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or related field. Public agency experience or advanced degree preferred.
• Financial Analyst II: Includes all above qualifications plus two years of full-time experience in budget development, administration, or cost/revenue projection and control.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Conduct fiscal and administrative analyses for county departments and agencies.
2. Develop and coordinate annual budgets, including revenue projections and historical data.
3. Maintain fiscal oversight, review expenditures, and recommend budget adjustments.
4. Coordinate with other agencies, represent the department in meetings, and make presentations.
5. Perform technical studies, research, and prepare reports and funding requests.
6. Lead county-wide training on budget and strategic planning, and provide public information.
7. Support county management, prepare agenda items, and assess legislative impacts.
8. Participate actively in team efforts and may supervise others.
9. Utilize standard office equipment and may operate county vehicles for off-site visits.
